Honda’s surprise exit from Formula One has left its two customer teams – Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri – in a rather difficult position.
The Japanese manufacture is poised to stop supplying its customer teams at the end of the 2021 season, and a forced Red Bull-Renault reunion appears to be the scenario that is most likely to play out.

However, it could be possible for Honda to continue to supply Red Bull even after 2021, according to Ziggo Sport F1 commentator Olav Mol.
“An option for Red Bull could be to keep using the Honda power unit under a white label arrangement and find someone for it [for branding purposes],” Mol wrote in a tweet, pointing to Red Bull’s recent deal with Renault and Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer.
Continuing, he said he believes that a power unit supply deal with Mercedes is a “longshot” and Red Bull co-founder and owner Dietrich Mateschitz would be opposed to such a partnership.
