Mercedes have released the first pictures of their 2021 challenger, the W12.

As Mercedes previously confirmed, the W12 features a black livery like its predecessor as part of the team’s continued support for the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.

However, the livery of their 2021 car is noticeably different to the W11, with the upper section of the engine cover featuring a silver section.

Like all other 2021 cars, the W12 is largely a carry-over of its predecessor, the ultra-dominant W11.

Mercedes’ new challenger will almost certainly be slower than the W11, at least in the first few races of the season, due to the FIA-mandated changes in the technical regulations aimed at reducing rear downforce levels and cornering loads across the grid.
