Mercedes Poke Fun At Themselves In Reply To Ferrari’s 1000th GP Livery

The Italian team will celebrate their 1000th Formula One Grand Prix this weekend at Mugello.

The Mercedes F1 team have poked fun at themselves with a sarcastic comment on a Facebook post by Scuderia Ferrari in which they unveiled their one-off retro livery for the Tuscan Grand Prix.

This weekend’s race at Mugello will be Ferrari’s 1000th Formula One Grand Prix, and, as Mercedes did to celebrate 125 years in motorsport at the 2019 German Grand Prix, they will be running a special livery to mark the occasion.

“This went well for us in Germany last year,” the Mercedes F1 team sarcastically commented on Ferrari’s post.

The wet, action-packed 2019 German Grand Prix was a race to forget for Mercedes.

Valterri Bottas retired his car after crashing on the exit of turn one, while Lewis Hamilton had a spin, a crash, and a very long pitstop – all of which resulted in him finishing down in ninth position.

Ferrari are currently sixth in the F1 Constructors’ Standings, and have failed to score a single point at the last two Grand Prix.
