Lewis Hamilton was awarded two five-second penalties at the Russian Grand Prix for completing practice starts outside of the designated area of the pitlane.
Hamilton also picked up a further two penalty points on his super licence for the infringements, leaving him just two points away from a one-race ban.

The first of his existing penalty points will expire in November, so the Brit will need to stay out of trouble until then to avoid a race ban.
With Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas taking victory at Sochi, he closed the gap in the F1 Drivers’ Standings to 44 points to Hamilton, so the Brit isn’t out of reach and a one-race ban would seriously hurt his chances of claiming a seventh Championship.
